Well
yesterday was the big day! Jared started his conditioning chemotherapy at home
and it went pretty well! We started his Pre- Medication bright and early at
7:30 am and then had his chemotherapy doses at 8:00 am, 2:00 pm, 8:00 pm, and
2:00 am, as well as doses at those same times today. We are now 7/12th of the way done with the first
chemo drug! So far, Jared has been handling the drugs very well, we have had no
vomiting yet and that makes me very happy! (At the appointment we had on Sunday
to learn all about the way to give chemo at home the nurse gave me a nice hot
pink bucket, so incase Jared has to throw up I have to sift through it to see
if the chemo was digested or not...... This process has all together made me
not as queasy and scared, but this really?!? ewww! that is a little too
far....) So, to say the least, I am very very thrilled that Jared has not had
to throw up! The Anti-Seizure medication Jared is on is supposed to have the
side affect of being intoxicated so we have had some pretty funny conversations
in the last day. So far, Jared is feeling well and happy it has been very
uneventful which I guess is a good thing.
Jared has SO MANY PILLS! I am trying to keep track of them all!
Here is the Chemo Pills. Each does is 38 pills.....not all in this picture.
We know it is only going to get
harder from here so we are thankful for some easy first days! We meet
every morning with Jared’s transplant team for a clinical check up to see how
you he is doing everyday. Thank you for your continued prayers as we continue
on this journey!
Yay for "No-shave November!" : ) We're all praying for you, Jared!
